BELLYDANCE!! - No - you don’t need to get your belly out! Tone up, gain self confidence and body awareness.
AIM TO DANCE - BELLYDANCE
Bellydance combines classic, folk and modern dance moves taken from North African and Middle Eastern dances. The style includes Egyptian, Turkish, Arabic, Oriental and Tribal style. Bellydance is most commonly danced by women for women, but there are dances for men too. The way the body reponds to the music makes this a mesmerising dance to watch. Bellydance is also quite famous for the use of props such as:
- Finger cymbals (zills, sagats) - learning how to play different rhythms.
- Stick/Cane (saidi) - imitating moves from men practising stick fighting.
- Veil - beautiful, flowing moves with the veil adding an extra element to the dance.
