I would just like to give a huge thank you to the ashay dance troupe, guest performers, class members, helpers and audience who joined us at the charity event on the 1st May 2010. We raised a fantastic £240 pounds which will be spilt between Alcohol Concern, DEC, Cancer Research, Just Because charities.

3. SHIMMY FOR SHEFFIELD / RAQS BRITTANIA
DO THE SHEFFIELD SHIMMY!! Bellydancer Sophie Mei and choreographer Nisha Lall show the six simple moves for a flash mob routine, set to dance star Hannah's World Cup song, I Believe In You. Learn it and take part in this fun event at Barker's Pool, outside Sheffield City Hall, on Saturday, June 5, 2010, 3pm. The full routine is also shown on the video footage and will be shown on the day too. This is open for all people to join in with - no need to be a bellydancer!
So spread the word! It promotes the city's World Cup Back The Bid 2018 campaign, to bring the tournament to England and hopefully Sheffield, Sheffield's UK City Of Culture bid and Raqs Britannia, Europe's biggest bellydance festival at Sheffield City Hall, June 25 to 27, 2010.

4. CHANCE TO DANCE - CLASS MEMBERS WANTED!!
We would like as many class members as possible to help with short demos of what we have been learning in classes. Nisha Lall will be leading the demos so you do not need to know them off by heart! Even if you do not join in with the class demo, please come along to show support and hand out flyers for our classes. Now in its 10th amazing year - this ever popular festival of community dance, brings Sheffield City Centre alive with music and movement. Dance groups from across the region come together to perform and offer informal taster sessions - from Latin to Line Dancing, young or old, this day boasts something for everybody. TRAMLINES FESTIVAL

The line-up for Tramlines 2010, Sheffield's FREE urban music festival, has been announced. The festival takes place 23 - 25 July as part of Sheffield Music City. Although Tramlines is only in its second year, 250 acts across four stages and 50 city centre venues prove that it is already established as a major force on the UK festival scene. http://www.tramlines.org.uk
